your habitat
do you walk? walking's a great way to study your own personal habitat up close. whether in a city, neighborhood or country. it's a good exercise to turn off your phone and just walk and observe the details of beauty all around you. even in the city, you will find beauty here and there as you look for it.
if you are really lucky, you may catch some beautiful, transient sight that no one else might notice or see. it is there, waiting for you…at the end of a gully washer, i went for my typical walk around my neighborhood. no one was out, so i got to enjoy the beauty of these puddles and freshly fallen leaves all to myself.

autumn rain
the beginning of fall has been very rainy and grey here in athens. i noticed these beautiful beads of water on the leaves and knew I had to brave my camera through the rain.

colorful fall leaves
as rinne mentioned in a previous post, i am obsessed with color field photos of fall leaf colors. i think one of my top ten favorite things is wet fall leaves on pavement. if i had the patience to paint these giant, i would. endless wonderful patterns, textures and colors that inspire so many ideas for so many things. i will go out again today if i can stand the cold!

fall colors
when i first met rebecca in 1995, she was making leaf arrangements similar to these...she would gather leaves of a similar shape or hue and make little compositions that filled the frame of her photographs. when i recently found myself surrounded by beautiful leaves, i decided to do the same...enjoy!
