if it weren't for r.wood studio, beautyeveryday may not exist. the three of us met through the work we have done with rebecca at her pottery studio. even after working at the studio for nearly a decade i still feel just as inspired as the first time i ever saw it. the days that we spend styling, eating, and taking pictures are always a treat! here are some pics from our photoshoot that we did the otherday in our friends bright and cheery studio.

shaking rock spring
i visited shaking rock park to look for spring. the granite boulders are very photogenic, and so are the lichens and shadows. at the bottom of the hill is a swamp where spring was in full procession.

house in the woods
i spied this old homeplace hiding in the woods. it almost looked cheery with all the daffodils blooming in the front yard! enormous oaks surrounded it. now it's just fading into history, all alone. i love to explore these old places.

Read Morewaiting for spring
this is one of the latest springs i can remember. finally, some daffodils are opening up, and a couple of japanese magnolias here and there, but usually by now the trees are showing color and lots more forsythia and shrubs are blooming. i went to the bot garden to look for spring. luckily they had a lot of hellebores, but their flowers always aim down! i decided to get a bug's eye shot with my camera. bug's are getting a much better view than me, it turns out.
