snowy day in the country
the "historic" ice storm didn't turn out to be so historic, but it did leave behind some snow. i sheltered at some friends' warm house, and got to walk in their woods the next morning before it all started to melt. i found this mysterious snow pond in the woods that was all japanesy on closer inspection.

Read Morethe malone's
john and carolyn malone have a tree farm outside madison, georgia. they have collected old log buildings and restored them into guest cottages and a lovely home. many creative touches, and low key decorating prove that less is more, or at least more refreshing! there is also an awesome ceiling light that john made out of vines and fall leaves. that’s john standing underneath it.

i went to edisto island in december- never had seen the marsh in it's winter colors. the day i visited, there was a heavy mist blowing across the marsh, adding to the somber and subtle beauty. enjoy!

abandoned church
down in thomas county, we ran across this little church. the door was open, so we peeked inside. there even was a little outhouse- it was a little caved in, but looked charming, still.
