one of my favorite spring shrubs is this japanese snowball. this year the balls were bigger and more numerous than i’ve ever seen them. so creamy and white! love!

This time of year, you may be treated to a sea of pink as you head down the highway. Peach trees are in bloom. The pasture grass under them is fresh spring green and the sky is blue. If you're really lucky, you'll pass by them when a rain is coming, and soft dark grey skies light up the ribbon of pink blossoms and bright grass…

in my 20's i spent a stretch of time in england...i remember flower-sellers with little violet posies on the street corners in the spring. they are so tiny, but so sweet. in our garden, the violets are popping up and they make the perfect bouquet for a friend.
