paintings to make
the older i get, the more i want to make paintings that look like these photos. wouldn't they be amazing wall size, or 8 x 10 feet? i'm always pondering how i would attempt this. just love this end of season chaos of tangles and colors and pods and grasses! to me, it's the prettiest time of year.

leaf shapes
i always say that i get my inspiration from nature, and i'm realizing now that leaves are a big part of that! i am obsessed and fascinated with leaf shapes and leaf colors and leaf shadows…this has been such a long fall that there are still pretty leaves to collect and admire. even golden gingkoes are still showing their beauty in december, which is unheard of. so anyway, i decided to document some leaf beauty, so here it is -

open to wander
we always love to take the backroads. on a recent trip through the NC mountains, this house caught my eye. i slowed the car and noticed the open door. we walked in and wandered through this place someone once called home...

southern nibbles for the holidays
the holidays are my favorite time of the year. i love the spirit, decorating, crafting, wrapping, giving, and all of the the yummy food! i recently visited with our friend mimi at home.made and she had me sample some of her delicious new packaged goods.
i love how mimi took traditional southern snacks and put her own touch into each product. she had the packaging designed by megan at brown parcel press and they are ready to ship out just in time for the holidays!!
these are perfect dinner party snacks or a fun little stocking stuffer or gift! it's hard to choose between the pepper jelly pecans, sweet tea caramels, caramel corn and pecans, or the cheese straws.
pick them up at the restaurant or order online!

seasonal arrangement
it's the latest we've ever had leaves on the trees, and the colors are still so pretty! i decided to play around with some of my fave fall colors. . .

dreamy grasses
one of the things i love about fall is fields of orange broomsedge. its seed heads glimmer in the late afternoon light, like fairies roaming the air.
