early hellebores & branch
one of the first flowers to bloom, hellebores have always been one of my favorites, partially because of their early appearance, but also because they remind me of the yard i grew up in. these early white ones came from my mother's garden, and i brought them home and tucked them in this found branch, at the suggestion of my 6 year old.
perfection.

Read Morewaiting for spring
this is one of the latest springs i can remember. finally, some daffodils are opening up, and a couple of japanese magnolias here and there, but usually by now the trees are showing color and lots more forsythia and shrubs are blooming. i went to the bot garden to look for spring. luckily they had a lot of hellebores, but their flowers always aim down! i decided to get a bug's eye shot with my camera. bug's are getting a much better view than me, it turns out.
