Northwoods dispatch: land of lakes fishing

My husband and I both grew up spending time at family cabins in the northwoods of minnesota and wisconsin.  since moving south we try to get up there every year or two and spend a week visiting family, friends, and doing all of the things we grew up doing.

on the way up to josh's cabin there is a scenic route that takes you along the outskirts of lake superior that we always take.  it is a tradition to stop by kendel's and pick up some smoked lake trout.  when we get to the cabin there is always plenty of fishing but it's not the same as kendal's smoked fish.
