rebecca's all moved in to the two room schoolhouse. the space is amazing, with 12 foot ceilings, and windows all on the east side to let the day in. the light is amazing, the all wood interior is wonderful, and there's so many artifacts.the two rooms are sort of multi-purpose and feel so unstructured and freeing. check out the new spaces.
i have been loving the change in season not only because of the great weather, but also the yummy veggies that are coming available. there is so many more local vegetables to choose from.
so for dinner the other night, i featured all of these great early spring veggies, including the morel mushrooms that my husband found.
i kept in simple and roasted the beets, carrots, and potatoes (with herbs and green garlic) and then sauteed the beet greens and the morel mushrooms in some olive oil.
thank you spring!
the wisteria blooms once a year for about 2 weeks and the air smells so sweet. i always wish that i could bottle that smell up.
well, rebecca came across an old two room schoolhouse for rent and jumped on it. it has history, loads of charm, and plenty of room. a quiet place in the country to dream and create. here's some 'before' pics!
we recently visited butch anthony for his annual doo-nanny outsider art festival. we were overloaded with visual inspiration throughout the weekend. we spent a good while walking around and checking out his amazing compound that he has created over the years. we loved the many out buildings, his sweet garden his museum of wonder (a story in the making), and his homemade home. each had its own character and was composed perfectly.
sharing some details of the exterior of his handmade home. enjoy and take note of the lovely use of materials....

gulf shrimp, corn, potatoes, garlic, andouille, hot sauce = a yummy shrimp boil!
this past weekend we drove down to seale, alabama for the
festival. we arrived friday night for the opening party and auction. the auction was great- it was filled with local folks who come down for the auction every friday, at 7pm. this particular day they were auctioning folk art from the doo-nanny artists. i would love to come back on again, on a random day.
